A press conference was held on September 10th, 2007 to announce the hiring of James Lancaster as the first General Manager of The Research Valley Partnership.

With an extensive background advising entrepreneurs and early-stage companies, James has co-founded three technology companies and serves as a board member or advisor to numerous other start-up businesses.  His experience includes bootstrapped, angel investor and venture capital-backed businesses, and was an investor and on the board of a company whose technology was acquired by one of the twenty largest software companies in the world.

James most recently served as CEO of TotalChart with previous posts including senior vice president with Avvantica, vice president of Intelliun, CEO of seventhVIEW and senior manager with Deloitte Consulting.  In addition to working with small companies in his career, his Fortune 500 clients have included Alcatel, Allied Signal, Ericsson, Bridgestone/Firestone, Haliburton, Herman Miller, Honeywell, Sonoco and Trinity.

He was a co-founder of seventhVIEW, Avalion Consulting and SkyBox360.  He currently serves on the board of directors of Avalion Consulting, Timetag and the non-profit Wednesday's Child Benefit Corporation, and is on the advisory boards of IdeaTango, Intelliun, Net Watch Solutions, SkyBox360 and Tech Materials.  He also founded Lancaster Capital and was an active member of the InvestIn Forum angel investment group prior to moving to Brazos County, and a past member of the North Dallas Investment Group.

He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas A&M and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
